For many children, going back to school is a familiar moment of excitement. But for some families, the cost of starting a new school year can make that excitement difficult to sustain.

This year, Giving Back with Evie returned to Yangoji, FCT, with the Back to School Project, creating an opportunity to support students as they prepared for another year of learning.

The project reached 60 students, providing essential school supplies and medical support to help address some of the practical barriers that can affect a child’s ability to learn. Beyond that immediate support, 10 high-performing students received tuition sponsorship, giving them continued support in their educational journey.

What made the project meaningful was not simply what was distributed. It was the reminder that educational support can take many forms. Sometimes it means putting the right supplies in a student’s hands. Sometimes it means helping a family manage the cost of school. And sometimes it means simply showing a child that their education matters and that someone is willing to invest in their future.

The Back to School Project is part of Giving Back with Evie’s broader commitment to using education as a pathway to opportunity. As the organization grows, the goal is not only to provide immediate assistance, but to develop educational initiatives that create meaningful and lasting opportunities for individuals and communities.

Sixty students. Ten tuition sponsorships. One community. And countless possibilities for what comes next.
